This study addresses one of the contemporary and controversial issues to identify any financial elements affecting growth rates for the firms headquartered or based in Chungcheong Province, which are closely located to the central domestic capital markets of Seoul Metropolitan area. Primary hypotheses were postulated in the study and tested to derive each relevant financial determinant associated with the growth rates for the firms by utilizing robust econometric estimations such as static panel data and probit regression model. The results are expected to be beneficial for all associated parties at the government- or firm-level, in that they may be applied to the business organizations in the particular region (i.e., Chungcheong Province) to explore and identify any untraversed potential opportunities towards enhanceing growth and profitability.
