This study examines the relationship between organizational characters and financial performance. Using a machine learning technique, we construct the measures of organizational characters similarly to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from anonymous employees’ online reviews. We present evidence that organizational characters correlate with financial performance. These results are robust to alternative specifications to gauge organizational characters. Empirical evidence suggests a company’s perceived growth potential as a channel linking organizational characters and financial performance.
