The Discipline of Finance at the University of Sydney Business School would like to invite submissions for the 3rd Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conference (SBFC). The SBFC aims to bring together international academics, policy makers and industry professionals and to provide them with the opportunity to meet and to share their research and interests on issues relating to Banking, Financial Intermediation, Financial markets, Financial Stability, and General Finance. |

Journal Sponsorship:
· Papers selected for presentation in the 2019 SBFC may be considered for publication in the following sponsoring journals:
o Journal of Financial Stability
o Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money
o Emerging Markets Review
o Finance Research Letters
· Authors whose papers are accepted for presentation at the conference are encouraged, but not obligated, to submit their papers to one of these sponsoring journals for publication in either a special issue or regular issues. The conference chairs will act as guest/handling editors.
· Papers submitted to each journal will be reviewed following these journals’ standard review process but submission fees will be waived.
· Details regarding the journal submission processes will be provided after the conference.
Paper Submission:
· The conference will consider both academic and policy-oriented papers in the broad fields of Banking, Financial Intermediation, Financial markets, Financial Stability, and General Finance
· Partial drafts or detailed abstracts will be considered, but completed papers will be given priority. Please submit two versions of paper electronically (Pdf or Word format) one without author and affiliation details (anonymous version) and one with full author details.
· Papers for the conference should be submitted to sbfc.conference@sydney.edu.au with the subject line 'SBFC2019 Submission'. The deadline for paper submissions for the conference is August 31, 2019.
· Authors will be notified by September 15, 2019, whether their papers have been accepted for presentation in the conference.
Registration Fee:
· For accepted paper presenters:
o Earlybird rate: AUD350 until October 1
o Normal rate: AUD400 after October 1
o PhD candidates: AUD300
· For participants without a paper presentation: AUD300
· There is no fee for paper submission
Bureau Van Dijk Best Paper Awards
· AUD1,000 for the best paper in Banking/Financial Intermediation
· AUD1,000 for the best paper in Financial Stability
